I cannot reproduce the problem on Vista Enterprise UK or NL (on vmware). What version are you using exactly and what Regional and Language settings is it set to?

    Can you give specific examples? Maybe this is a new encoding. We plan to upgrade the VLC we use with the next release.

      i also cant get video on the internal player, sound only.
      
      I tried switching settings to wmp and still no luck.

        Tribler 4.1.9 still uses VLC 0.8.6a which has issues on Vista. A trick that works is to install VLC, then open Settings / Preferences / Video / Output modules. Then click Advanced Options. This should bring up a switchbox called "Video output module". Set this to opengl.
        
        This was tested with VLC 0.8.6a, may also work with newer.
