The PowerPC version should also work on Intel, the PowerPC code will get interpreted by the Intel.

  Thanks for the reply. I realise that PowerPC apps can run on Intel, it's just that they are slower and take more memory. Are there any plans for a universal or Intel binary? Or do I have to download the source code and compile myself for an Intel native binary?

    We're a little short on staff and hardware at the moment, so not anytime soon. Of course, you can roll you own (and tell us if it's faster ;o). Building on Mac is a bit complicated, however, but see mac/Makefile.

      Though, I think the Tribler website should make it clearer that the build is PowerPC only. No other program is labelled as "PowerPC, Intel" if it's actually a PowerPC build. With all due respect and appreciation for the developers' work, of course.
