Same here, yesterday i download Ubuntu updates, and there was a newer version of Tribler (4.1.9.), so i installed that one too... but on the site i only see version 4.1.8.

Over here Tribler works perfect on my Ubuntu machine...

Anything that comes from tribler.org is by definition official ;o) Sometimes you get a sneak preview. 4.1.9 is now out official for all platforms.

Could you try running tribler from the source, by doing cd /usr/share/tribler
python tribler.py

and see what that gives?
