Start-up failure

I installed Tribler v4.1.8 and it didn't run. Error message: Unfortunately, Tribler ran into an internal error: locale.Error:unsupported locale setting. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it without success.

Thank you for taking the trouble for reporting this bug.

Interesting error. Few questions: So this error shows up in the first seconds of starting Tribler? Did you try a previous version of Tribler? Are you running a non-english version of Vista perhaps?

    Greetings, Johan.

When I open Tribler 4.18 on my PPC Mac OSX 10,4 after installing, it crashes after 10-15 sec. Everything looks fine until then. If I look in the Tribler Download Folder, there is a Folder called Yaoi, which seems to contain 100s of obscure JPEGs. Are your server infected ?

My Mac just say ,that Tribler stopped unexpected.

      Best regards

Can you check what the Mac Console says (Applications / Utilities / Console) and post that info here? The data in TriblerDownloads? can only have come from you starting a download (inadvertently perhaps), or via the download booster (if you added friends.

Somehow the internal admin of Tribler got corrupted. If you start the Terminal application and then run the following command things should be fine again:

            \rm -rf $HOME/.Tribler

It did not solve the problem. It said : Failed-invalid torrent file.

I will try on another Mac to see if that works.

          Thanks anyway.!

I solved the problem. I had to change the 'Current Format' from the Regional and Language Settings Options. I set it from my language to English[United Kingdom] and Tribler ran successfully.
