Overview
BuddyWeb? is peer-to-peer caching system based on the BestPeer? system. BestPeer? is self-configurable peer-to-peer system. A BestPeer? node can configure itself by keeping the peers it benefits most from as direct neighbors. BestPeer? also provides the use of mobile agents. A peer may create an agent and send it to other peers, where the agent digests the other peers' content. A BuddyWeb? node runs a local proxy which accepts URL requests and keyword queries and creates a query that is suitable for the BestPeer? network.
BuddyWeb? performs similarity-based reconfiguration. Each peer computes its similarity with other peers according a set of keywords provided by each peer. Peers with high similarity will be used as direct neighbors. Similarities can also be used for routing, an agent may be forwarded to the neighbor with the highest similarity instead of all neighbors.
